Melanie J. Haga
President /CEO
Melanie, a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University, has spent her entire business career in the hi-tech industry. She started her career in marketing with AT&T and held several computer industry marketing management positions prior to founding Back Thru The Future Computer Recycling in 1990. Melanie is responsible for all day-to-day operations within the company and is recognized as a computer recycling industry pioneer. A highly successful entrepreneur, Melanie is the recipient of numerous awards.
Back Thru The Future Computer Recycling was one of the first computer recycling firms in the country and, through Melanie’s talented and effective leadership, has grown to become one of the largest firms of its type on the U.S. east coast.
An ardent outdoors person, Melanie is a ceaseless advocate for environmental stewardship and actively participates in civic and charitable organizations. |
Daniel Bayha
VP/CFO
Dan is a graduate of the University
of Pennsylvania and Harvard Business School. He has spent his entire 35 year business career in the computer industry, starting in sales with IBM and progressing through various computer industry management positions until establishing his own computer leasing firm in 1980. Dan has been the lead investor and senior executive in a number of computer industry businesses. He was an early investor in and consultant to Back Thru The Future before joining the firm in 1992 as CFO.
In addition to his financial duties, Dan is responsible for marketing and sales efforts for Back Thru The Future’s computer recycling and secure data destruction activities.
Dan is a recognized authority on the young, but rapidly emerging secure data destruction industry. He sits on the National Association for Information Destructions (NAID) committee that is responsible for the establishment of the secure data destruction industries certification policies. He is a frequent speaker and has published several articles concerning secure data destruction practices. |
Sonia Schenker
Special Projects Manager

Sonia’s business career has been spent as an administrative support professional in the areas of non-profit organizations, banking and corporate law. Most recently Sonia was the Marketing and Communications Director for a Northern New Jersey Chamber of Commerce.

Richard Hild
Destruction Manager

Rich started his career as a combat engineer with the U.S. Army in Germany. Upon returning home, he joined his family land reclamation business and subsequently started his own construction company.
Rich brings his significant hands on skills to Back
Thru The Future as the
Safe Harbor Data Destruction Operations Manager. In addition to overseeing all day-to-day operational requirements, Rich provides technical and customer support for the Safe Harbor Data Destruction operations. |
